The new vision for Like Minds is a nation where all people uphold the mana and human rights of people who experience mental distress. This initiative will contribute to this vision by using lived experience-led education to reduce prejudice and discrimination against people who experience severe mental distress.
The education will be delivered in settings such as primary health and settings that impact on participation in the labour market for people who experience mental distress.
Together with our successful partner(s), we will design an educational programme and a development pathway of lived experience educators.
The partner(s) Te Hiringa Hauora procures to deliver this work should have a track record of designing and delivering education for social change.
Partner(s)must be either a Māori organisation, or a Tīriti-based partnership between a Māori organisation(s) and a non-Māori organisation(s). This organisation(s) must also be peer-led or employ a dedicated team of people with lived experience of mental distress to lead the work.
Te Hiringa Hauora would prefer to award the contract to just one organisation or partnership that has national reach.
